Terms of use
Carefolio Terms of Use
Effective September 16, 2026.
1. Operator and agreement
Carefolio at carefolio.us is operated by Channing Bredley, based in Ohio, United States. Contact info@carefolio.us. These terms govern use of the directory, professional websites, accounts, credential review and communication features. Professionals accept them when creating an account. Our Privacy Policy explains our information practices; acceptance of these terms does not waive statutory privacy rights.
2. The service and its limits
Carefolio lets professionals and practices build profile websites and submit credentials for administrative review. Approved profiles may appear publicly with a verification badge and in our directory. Visitors can browse information and send general enquiries or follow a practice’s external booking link.
Carefolio does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, emergency response, clinical supervision or patient records. It does not currently process appointments, payments or insurance claims. Professionals are independent of Carefolio and are responsible for their services, fees, eligibility, clinical decisions, licensing and patient relationships. An enquiry does not create a clinician–patient relationship or guarantee an appointment or reply. For an emergency, contact local emergency services; in the United States call 911.
3. Eligibility and account responsibility
You must be at least 18 to create a professional account or submit an enquiry. If you represent a practice, you must have authority to provide its information and act for it. Supply accurate account information, maintain access to your email, protect your password and promptly report unauthorized access. Do not share an administrator account. You are responsible for activity you authorize through your account, without limiting protections provided by applicable law.
4. Professional credentials and verification
Provide genuine, current evidence that belongs to you or the practice you are authorized to represent. You authorize Carefolio to review submitted evidence and, where appropriate, check public registries or contact the issuing authority. We may request clarification, return an application for correction or decline publication when evidence is insufficient, inconsistent, expired or unverifiable.
A verification badge means that Carefolio approved the professional credentials submitted for that profile through its review process. It is not a government certification, background check, guarantee of clinical skill, safety, suitability or outcomes, or an endorsement of every statement in a profile. A practice badge does not independently verify every person described on its team. Different professions and jurisdictions may have different licensing or certification requirements. Visitors should confirm that a professional’s current authority and scope suit the service and location involved.
Tell us promptly about expiry, suspension, restrictions, disciplinary action or other material changes affecting your credentials or authority to practice. Do not wait for a renewal reminder. Carefolio may request fresh evidence, remove a badge, pause publication or suspend an account while a concern is investigated. Do not reproduce the badge in a way that implies broader verification or approval than Carefolio actually provided.
5. Profile content and publication
You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant Carefolio a non-exclusive permission to host, store, reproduce, resize and display that content as reasonably needed to operate, secure and support the service. This permits publication of approved profile content and private processing of credential evidence; it does not authorize public display of credential documents or sale of your content.
You must have the rights and permissions needed for names, photographs, logos, team details, descriptions and other content you provide. Do not upload patient photographs, testimonials revealing private health information or third-party records without a separately assessed lawful basis and appropriate permission; the current credential upload and enquiry features are not intended for patient information.
Drafts and submissions are private until approved. An existing approved version can remain public while edits await review. Pause your website if the approved version should no longer appear. Approved profile URLs are intended to remain stable and cannot ordinarily be changed through the editor. We may resolve impersonation, trademark disputes or technical problems through support. Neither a particular URL nor a position in search results is guaranteed. Search engines decide whether and how to index pages.
6. Acceptable use
Do not impersonate someone, misrepresent credentials, submit altered evidence, make misleading treatment claims, infringe another person’s rights, harass others, send spam, upload malicious code, attempt unauthorized access or interfere with the service. Do not collect profile or visitor data for unsolicited marketing or build misleading copies of the directory. Ordinary search-engine indexing of public pages is permitted subject to our published technical controls.
Do not send passwords, payment-card numbers, insurance identifiers, medical records or detailed symptoms through enquiries or support forms. Use the professional’s appropriate secure communication channel for clinical matters. Reports about a profile must be made honestly and with information relevant to the concern. Carefolio may preserve relevant records and cooperate with lawful investigations.
7. Enquiries and external services
By sending an enquiry, you ask us to deliver your name, email and message to the selected professional. That professional may contact you directly. You can ask us to delete the copy we hold, but requests about independent copies must also be directed to the professional. Contact and booking links may lead to third-party services, with their own terms, privacy notices and charges. Carefolio does not control those services or guarantee their availability.
8. Reports, review decisions and appeals
Use the report feature or email info@carefolio.us if a profile appears inaccurate, impersonates someone or raises a credential concern. We may ask for supporting information and restrict publication while investigating. We may provide review feedback to the account holder without disclosing confidential reporter details unnecessarily.
An account holder can ask for reconsideration by emailing “Profile review appeal,” identifying the profile and supplying relevant corrected evidence. Reconsideration does not guarantee approval. Public verification details and review dates are not displayed on profiles; this does not prevent lawful disclosure to authorities or the handling of an access request.
9. Fees and service changes
Carefolio’s current service is free. No subscription or recurring payment is created by these terms. Any future paid feature will have clearly disclosed pricing and require a separate affirmative purchase decision. Practice fees listed by professionals relate to their services and are not payments to Carefolio. We may improve, modify or discontinue features, with appropriate notice where feasible or legally required.
10. Pausing, suspension and account closure
You can pause publication or delete an ordinary professional account in account settings after confirming your password. Deletion removes the profile and associated active application data described in the Privacy Policy. Keep copies of content and credential evidence you need; private credential documents are not downloadable by the uploading account.
We may restrict or end access for misuse, inaccurate credentials, legal requirements, security threats or other material violations of these terms. Where appropriate, we will explain the reason and allow a response; immediate action may be necessary to protect people or the service. Suspension does not automatically erase the account. Closure does not immediately remove independent search-engine copies, recipient copies or all backups. Privacy rights and obligations continue after closure where applicable.
11. Availability, responsibility and legal rights
We aim to operate Carefolio with reasonable care, but cannot promise uninterrupted access, error-free information, a particular number of enquiries, search ranking or professional outcome. Profiles contain information supplied by professionals, and credential review has the limits explained above. Use professional judgment and independent checks when selecting care.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Carefolio is provided without additional implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, and we are not responsible for losses caused by independent professionals or external services we do not control. Nothing in these terms excludes responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded, excuses fraud or willful misconduct, waives mandatory consumer rights or limits obligations imposed by privacy and security laws. These terms do not impose mandatory arbitration or a class-action waiver.
12. Disputes, updates and contact
Please contact info@carefolio.us first so we can try to resolve a concern. Ohio law governs these terms to the extent applicable, subject to mandatory protections and jurisdictional rights that apply where you live. This clause does not remove rights to contact regulators or use a competent court.
We will post updated terms with an effective date, give appropriate notice of material changes and seek renewed agreement where required. If a provision cannot be enforced, the remaining terms continue to the extent legally permissible. Contact: Channing Bredley, Carefolio, Ohio, United States; info@carefolio.us.
